Graphite
Filled Vinyl Ester Composites for Fuel Cell Bipolar Plate
Fuel Cells generate electricity
from an electro chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. Fuel Cells are
know to have potentials to revolutionize energy conversion and distribution.
There are a number of bipolar plate technolnogies for Fuel Cells, and the bipolar plate have the critical
task of conducting current, keeping the gases separate, and managing the water
flow. Pure graphite
plates were used initially, but due to their high cost and manufacturing
difficulty, thermoset bipolar plates have generated
interest from Fuel Cell companies because of their low cost, corrosion
resistance, and durability. ShinHa is introducing graphite filled vinyl ester
composites from Bulk Molding Compounds, Inc(BMC) that is an exclusive licensee
of Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Thermosetting
Resins and Molding Compounds
In designing
parts for automotive and electronic appliances, a wide range of physical
properties such as thermal stability, chemical stability, mechanical strength, weatherability, dimensional
stability, etc are carefully considered
to meet the requirements of a wide range of molding processes and
product applications. Phenolic, Melamine, and Polyester resins are typically used for
most applications requiring physical properties mentined above. Plenco
is has a long-established
reputation as a world leader in the development and refinement of thermosetting
resins and molding compounds.
